Rogiet Primary School, Monmouthshire

Rogiet Primary School is a new-build project to replace an existing school on adjacent land in the village of Rogiet, Monmouthshire. The single-storey, timber-frame building accommodates 260 pupils and staff, and has landscaped grounds and external play and sports areas. Monmouthshire County Council set the BREEAM 'Excellent' objective in line with its targets and Welsh Assembly Government guidance on the sustainable development of public buildings.
Hartridge High School, Newport, South Wales

The Leadbitter Group has started construction of a new £29 million state-of-the-art building for Hartridge High School
in Newport, following its successful delivery of Newport High School in Bettws for Newport City Council. Both projects
are part of the Council's major secondary school redevelopment programme.
With its innovative design, which includes two teaching wings wrapped around a central atrium, the new school is
intended to offer the best possible environment for Hartridge's 1,450 pupils, raising education standards as well as
offering first-class community facilities and providing employment opportunities. The work is expected to be completed
by spring 2012.

The Learning Zone, Ebbw Vale

The project is part of a £350 million scheme, known as The Works, launched by Blaenau Gwent County Borough

carbon housing, general offices, Central Valley Wetland Park and an arts facility on the former steelworks site in Ebbw Vale.

Maggie's South West Wales Centre in Swansea, Wales

Situated next to the South West Wales Cancer Centre at Singleton Hospital, Maggie's will serve people living within the
South West Wales Cancer Network. Maggie's South West Wales is located at Singleton Hospital, Swansea.
Facilities will include a kitchen, library, dining area, relaxation and counselling spaces, stores and offices.
Two wings faced with precast concrete wall panels and covered by a curving zinc roof will wind into the centre of the
building which is formed around a large oval skylight.

On completion in autumn 2012, the £50 million hospital will offer five operating theatres, 30 in-patient beds and
18 day patient beds providing a range of treatments in luxury surroundings. The hospital is being built by the
same award-winning design and build team as Circle hospital in Bath.
The University is currently building a new multi-million pound campus in Newport's city centre. The £35m campus is
situated on the banks of the River Usk and will be the first phase of an intended £50m development for the University.
Archbishop McGarth School

Following a doubling of pupil numbers over the past 20 years and the gradual deterioration of the school buildings,
there has been a commitment to spend more than £20 million on a brand new school, to be located at a more
accessible site in Brackla.
A £30m PFI project to build, operate and finance Bristol's Hengrove Leisure Centre in Hengrove Park will boost
the quality of sports and swimming facilities in the south of the city. It will include a ten-lane 50-metre swimming
pool, a sports hall and a health and fitness suite.
In 2011 the doors will open on the Gwent Record Office's new home in Ebbw Vale, on the site of the old
steelworks. Part of the new Office will be in the Steelworks General Office, a Grade 2* listed building but
an integral part of the development will be a new extension to provide around 10km of shelves in the
controlled environment needed to ensure that the Collection is accessible now and hundreds of years
into the future.
The new Local General Hospital for the Caerphilly Borough - Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr will be located at the
Ystrad Fawr site in Ystrad Mynach and will give patients access to an increased range of services in a modern
health care environment and will be part of the Clinical Futures network of services.

A £20 million investment in new halls of residence at the Treforest Campus to assist students in finding a place

St. David's 2 in the city centre of Cardiff is now the eleventh largest shopping centre in the United Kingdom and is
the second phase of the original St David's Shopping Centre. The construction of the extension cost a total of £675m
and brought Cardiff within the top five shopping destinations in the United Kingdom with 20 million people visiting
the centre during the first six months after its opening. St David's was crowned the international shopping centre of
the year in 2010 by Global Retail Leisure International, beating contenders in Portugal and Singapore.
