As part of our environmental initiatives we ensure that we source suppliers that have been awarded chain of custody for their products (FSC, PEFC) these include MTS our nominated suppliers of loose timber and sheet material.
The Forest Stewardship Council is an international organisation promoting responsible forest management. FSC has developed principles for forest management of forest holdings, and a system of tracing, verifying and labeling timber and wood products, which originate from FSC-certified forests. FSC has the support of many environmental groups.
The PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
